Oyo State Government Promises To Ensure Coaches Engage In Training

The new Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development in Oyo State, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke, has promised to do whatever she can to ensure Coaches in Oyo state engage in training and retraining of members to improve their professional status in global practices.

Hon. Adegoke made the promise on Monday during a Coaching Clinic programme organized by the leadership of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association in Oyo State in partnership with Berackiah coaching Clinic .

The commissioner while congratulating the Executives of the Association on their vision at developing the career of their members at grassroot level said the state government led by Engineer Seyi Makinde is solidly behind the Association as the sports loving Governor is in love with any initiative that would improve the lots of his people and thus reduce the youth restfulness and other social vices in the state.

“I want to tell you that the state government ably led by the Executive Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde is solidly behind this Association as your efforts at building Grassroot Football Coaches in the state is laudable and it’s in line with government policies aimed at building capacity building of its citizenry “.

“Let me assure you that I am going to do everything within my capacity as a Sports Commissioner to ensure that you lack nothing in terms of government support to achieve your lofty heights”

“My office is open to you at anytime that you may need my assistance so that we can together move the sports forward” Adegoke said.

The Commissioner who thanked the Executives of Nigeria Football Coaches Association for their sense of ingenuity in building the image of their members said she is looking forward to how the Association capacity building be further strengthened.

Chairman, Nigeria Football Coaches Association(NFCA) Oyo State Chapter, Akinola Olatunji while welcoming the commissioner, urged her to use her good office to facilitate how Coaches can get grant from the state government to enable them attend CAF and UEFA organized Coaching seminars in years to come

On his part, the Training Officer ,Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Oyo State Chapter, who doubles as Director of Football Academy, Shooting Stars Sport Club, Coach Adeyemo Ayodeji Charles spoke glowingly of the Commissioner that she is a pride to women folk as her work since assumption of office is already resonating progress and he then appealed to her to continue to support the grassroots coaches in the state to enable them improve their skills so that young minds can also be given opportunities to become super coach soonest.

Director of Shooting Stars Academy further noted that the State government is doing its utmost best in terms of sporting infrastructure and expects same to be replicated in human capacity building. Coach Ay pleaded.

The training which commenced on Monday continues today with all participants in attendance
