Youths have been enjoined to make use of knowledge acquired through skill acquisition empowerment to train others and engaged in community activities.
The advise was given by the Chief Executive Officer Aids For Women, Adolescents and Children International Origination (AWACIO), Dr Claudia Okeke while addressing graduates at the recently held skill acquisition empowerment graduation ceremony in Anambra Central.
She equally advised them to make use of the equipment given to them for the betterment of themselves and others, adding that the beauty of the training is to train others.
The CEO said the foundation has been in partnership with Central bank of Nigeria for 4 to 5 years.and has gone to different cities and states like gwagwalada, gombe, Abuja and others, but was the first time of doing such empowerment in Anambra State.
She explained that the foundation, initially engaged 88 trainees but 50 was qualified for the training, stating that the 50 Active trainees will be monitored for one year to ensure that they are using their skills and are becoming economically impactful in their communities in Anambra central Senatorial Zone
In his address, a representative from CBN, Mr Godfrey Ntaji said the central bank of Nigeria is a responsible institution that desires to impact positively on its operational environment and the country at large through it’s corporate social responsibility.
“I am of confident that this skill acquisition programme will contribute meaningfully towards the improvement of lives and economic for the people of Anambra central”, he said
The Managing Director Anambra Broadcasting Service ABS Chido Obidiegwu represented by Ag Director, News and current affairs Mrs Judy Jeff- Nwabuze said the programme is impacting on human being.
He encouraged the youths to make use of what they acquired judiciously, pointing out that the state government is interested in investing in youths.
He praised the CEO of the foundation on the empowerment, saying that getting the youths right is the future of every nation.
Earlier in his speech, the chairman of Umuezeawa village in Enugwu- Ukwu Njikoka local Government Mr Fabian Akpagu told the youths to apply the knowledge they acquired on the programme for future use, to feed themselves and other.
The graduates were presented with certificates, Commercial Grinding, Pastry, Tailoring, Costmetics Kits and others.
