The Chairman, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi in a message expressed condolences on the passing of the whistle giant, a retired FIFA referee.

Chief Iloenyosi said that the news of Alhaji Sani Zubairu’s passing has sent shockwaves of sadness across the Nigerian football community describing him as a stalwart of the game who wore many hats.

“The late Sani Zubairu was a stalwart who contributed immensely to the development of refereeing in Nigeria. His focus on ICT in referee development and improving referee welfare will be remembered”.

“As a leader, Sani Zubairu was a beacon of hope and inspiration. His focus on harnessing ICT to drive referee development was revolutionary, and his passion for improving referee welfare was unwavering”,

“He was a true servant of the game, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations of referees and football administrators”,

“As we bid farewell to Alhaji Sani Zubairu, we take solace in the memories of his remarkable contributions to Nigerian football. May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to guide and inspire us all. Our condolences to the NRA family, his loved ones, and the entire Nigerian football community”.
