The Chairman of Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia Coach John Sam Obuh on behalf of the club, has extended his warmest congratulations to the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Mallam Ibrahim Musa Gusau on his election as the President of West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.
Gusau was WAFU B’s first Vice President before he was elected the President during an online meeting held by Zone B executive members on Monday, May 19, 2025.
In a heartfelt gesture, the former Nigeria national Under-17 and Under-20 Head Coach extended his warmest congratulations to Mallam Gusau while speaking with Abia Warriors Media.
“Today I received with great joy the news of Mallam Ibrahim Gusau’s election as the President of WAFU Zone B. It was news that made my day, and with great joy I say a big congratulations to Mallam Ibrahim Musa Gusau on his elevation.
“As NFF President, Gusau has done well in repositioning the football body, and his commitment and passion for football has earned him this prestigious position.
“I have no doubt that he will excel in his new role following his antecedent as a reformer.
“Once again on behalf of Abia Warriors Football Club, I extend my warmest congratulations to Mallam Ibrahim Gusau”, Obuh said.
With his election as WAFU B President , Gusau becomes the fourth Nigerian to lead the regional football governing body following the footsteps of Jonathan Ogufere, Abdulmumini Aminu, and Amos Adamu.
WAFU Zone B comprises Nigeria, Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Cote D’ Ivoire, Ghana, Niger Republic and Togo.
