The governor of Anambra state, Prof Charles Soludo has sent a message of congratulations to the newly elected executives of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra state Council led by Dr Odogwu Emeka Odogwu.
Dr Odogwu and members of his executive were elected on Friday, 24th January 2025 in a keenly contested election held at Godwin Ezemo Press Center, Awka.
In a congratulatory message signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, governor Soludo enjoined Dr Odogwu to seek unity and cohesion as they are essential for the council’s growth and prosperity.
“On behalf of the Anambra State Government, I warmly congratulate Dr. Odogwu Emeka Odogwu and his team on their well-deserved victory in the recent NUJ Anambra Council elections. Your re-election is a testament to your leadership and dedication to the union”,
“As you begin your new term, I urge you to extend a hand of fellowship to all members, healing any wounds that may have arisen during the electioneering process. Unity and cohesion are essential for the council’s growth and prosperity”,
“The Anambra State Government looks forward to continued collaboration and fair reporting of our activities. We are committed to maintaining a cordial relationship with the NUJ and promoting a free and independent press”,
“Once again, congratulations to Dr. Odogwu and his team. We wish you a successful tenure and look forward to working with you”, the message read
