Anambra State Housing Commissioner, Hon. Pauly Onyeka, has described the new Government House and Lodge under construction by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, as the best in Africa, and a great monumental feat that would stand the test of time .
The Commissioner made this known during an interview with the Governor’s Media Team at the new Government House and Lodge Site, Awka.
He noted that the project is a very gigantic and huge edifice, which is gradually turning into something realistic.
According to him: ” lf you understand how this place was about two years ago, then you will now come to realize the fact that this administration has done what anybody can call an impossible thing.
“If you look around, you will see that this place is a community of its own, with over 35 different buildings, starting from the main building of the project, the Governor’s Offices, Amphitheatre; talk about the residential, the clinic, the sporting center, the banquet hall, accomodating over 1,225 persons and a lot of other essential buildings .
Hon Onyeka extolled Mr Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo for his innovation and infrastructural transformation in the state, describing him as a visionary leader that always thinks wildly and deeply into anything he would embark on.
In his words: “The Governor constantly visits the site with other high profile projects in the state to see that things are done well.
” I have never seen a Governor with such passion and capacity. Here, we have a wonderful Government House and city” .
He said that the choice of locating the Government House there was intentional because the three arms square of the government like the judiciary, House of Assembly and the State Secretariat Complex, with all other apparatus of government are centered around the new Government House.
He then assured that in a couple of weeks, everything will be fixed and the new Government House would be presented to the people of the state soon .
