UNIZIK: Prof. Nduka Emerges New Dean, Faculty Of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Prof. Sunday Nduka has been elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka at the extraordinary Faculty Board meeting chaired by the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

Prof. Sunday Nduka polled a total of 24 votes to emerge victorious out of 33 accredited voters, while his opponent, Prof. Chukwuebuka Umeyor polled a total of 9 votes.

In his opening remarks, UNIZIK Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ikechebelu welcomed faculty staff to the new year and expressed gratitude for God’s enduring love and faithfulness in the affairs of the University. The Acting VC also shared his BLESSed vision, outlining key goals for the institution.

In his acceptance speech, Prof. Nduka expressed gratitude to his colleagues for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the Faculty. The scholar called for collaboration and a spirit of unity to achieve shared goals.

The outgoing Dean, Prof. Chibueze Ihekwereme, extended his appreciation to all faculty members for their support throughout his tenure, wishing his successor a successful term.
