Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has been elected as the 1st Vice President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) B Zone, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The election took place on Friday in Niamey, Niger Republic, during this year’s CAF African Schools Football Championship, which serves as the qualifying tournament for WAFU B.

Kurt Edwin-Simeon Okraku, the President of the Ghana Football Association, was elected as the President of the Zone.

Oumarou Sawadogo, the President of the Burkinabe Football Federation, was elected as the 2nd Vice President.

The WAFU B Zone comprises seven countries: Nigeria, Togo, Benin Republic, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic, and Côte d’Ivoire. Gusau, who became the President of the NFF in September 2022, has held several high-level positions in African football.

His roles include serving on the Organizing Committee for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) and acting as a top security officer for both FIFA and CAF.
