2024 Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Pre-Season Tourney Goes To Abakaliki

Abakaliki, Ebonyi state has been confirmed as the host of the 6th Ifeanyi Ekwueme TICO/SELECT Pre-Season Tournament.

The tournament powered by Enyimba FC Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme pride itself as one of the major preseason tournaments in Nigeria and best East of the Niger with previous editions in Enugu, Uyo, etc.

According to a release made available to the media by the organizing Committee, Ebonyi State Sports Complex in Abakaliki will for the first time host the prestigious tournament.

The competition is expected to kick off on August 23rd 2024 and will tentatively end on August 30th, 2024.

The release further stated that about Seven NPFL sides and Five NNL club sides will participate in the annual Competition that has proven to be a bedrock for many club sides to prepare for new seasons.

Some of the clubs include, NPFL current and former champions, Rangers Int’l FC and Enyimba FC. Others include, Rivers United, Abia Warriors, Akwa United, Bayelsa United and 3SC.

The NNL Sides include, recently relegated Heartland FC (who are said to be negotiating their return to NPFL by taking over Beyond Limit), Coal City FC of Enugu, Apex Crane FC of Asaba, Edel FC of Nnewi and lastly the host team, Ebonyi United FC of Abakiliki.
