NIS Uyo Centre Students Begin Examinations After 8-Week Basic Programme

Students of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Uyo Centre, have commenced their final examinations following eight weeks of intensive learning, practical sessions and preparation under the Institute’s Basic Programme.

The examination represents a crucial milestone in the academic and professional journey of the students, who have undergone eight weeks of training aimed at enhancing their knowledge, practical skills and understanding of sports coaching and development.

The Basic Programme forms part of the NIS’ ongoing efforts to provide accessible professional training for aspiring coaches and sports practitioners across the country. Through initiatives of this nature, the Institute continues to strengthen the human capacity needed for the effective development of sports at both grassroots and professional levels.

As the students begin their examinations, the NIS has urged them to approach the exercise with confidence and discipline, while putting into practice the knowledge acquired during the course of the programme. Successful completion of the programme will mark another significant step in their growth as sports professionals.

The commencement of the examinations also underscores the Institute’s wider commitment to expanding professional coaching opportunities. With the introduction of programmes such as the CAF D Licence Coaching Course, the NIS continues to open more pathways for aspiring coaches and sports enthusiasts to acquire relevant training and build sustainable careers in sports.

The Institute reaffirmed its commitment to producing well-trained and competent coaches capable of contributing to the discovery and development of sporting talents and, ultimately, to the growth of Nigerian sports.
