Nasarawa Amazons Football Club of Lafia fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against Remo Stars Ladies in their MatchDay 3 encounter at the ongoing 2nd Governor Douye Diri Women’s Pre-Season Football Tournament in Yenagoa.
The Lafia Landladies fell behind as early as the 5th minute when Ogundele Subomi capitalized on Remo Stars’ first corner kick of the match to give the Ikenne side the lead.
Nasarawa Amazons responded strongly and their persistence paid off in the 33rd minute when Isaac Delight produced a brilliant finish to restore parity, 1-1, before the break.
The second half was keenly contested, with the Lafia Landladies creating the better chances in search of a winner, but Remo Stars Ladies stayed organized defensively to frustrate their attack. The game ended 1-1 after regulation time.
The result gives Nasarawa Amazons their first point of the tournament after their opening-day defeat to Ahudiyannem Queens. The Lafia Landladies now have 1 point from 2 games and sit fourth in Group B, while Remo Stars Ladies are third with 2 points from 3 games.
