Professor Allen Adum of the Department of Development and Communication Studies has been elected Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
The election held on Friday, where Prof. Adum emerged unopposed, polling all 52 valid votes cast by eligible members of the faculty.

The Vice-Chancellor, represented by the Provost of the College of Postgraduate Studies, declared him winner at the end of the exercise.
Prof. Adum’s emergence follows a unanimous endorsement by faculty members, reflecting broad confidence in his leadership capacity.

In his acceptance remarks, Prof. Adum thanked members of the faculty for the trust reposed in him.

He said: “I am deeply humbled by this unanimous mandate. This is not just my victory, but a collective affirmation of our shared vision for the faculty.”
He pledged to run an inclusive administration focused on academic excellence, staff welfare and innovation.

“I will work with everyone to reposition the faculty as a centre of excellence in communication and media scholarship. Together, we will raise the bar in teaching, research and community service,” he added.
