…… Celebrates Journey Of Service ‘From Chalk To Chamber’
The member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Prof. Oby Lilian Orogbu, has been named Legislator of the Year at the 5th edition of the Anambra Man of the Year (AMTY) Awards.
The award was presented to the lawmaker on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Stanel Dome, Awka, during a ceremony that gathered distinguished personalities and leading voices across Anambra State to celebrate excellence, leadership, and outstanding contributions to society.
For Hon. Prof. Orogbu, the recognition is more than a personal honour. It reflects a journey that has taken her from the classroom to the National Assembly, where she continues to combine scholarship, grassroots engagement, and legislative responsibility in serving the people of Awka North and South Federal Constituency.
Responding to the award, the lawmaker expressed gratitude to the organisers, particularly the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Rev. Sr. Prof. Adaoma Igwedibia, and her team for creating a platform that recognises individuals whose contributions continue to impact society.
She dedicated the award to the people of Awka North and South Federal Constituency, describing their mandate and support as her greatest motivation.
According to her, the honour reflects not only her individual efforts but also the collective journey of the people she represents towards progress, development, and meaningful impact.
“From chalk to chamber, my journey continues. And I’m just getting started,” she said.
While appreciating the recognition, Hon. Prof. Orogbu said the award would not make her complacent. Instead, it would spur her to do more for her constituents.
The honour, therefore, comes not as a conclusion to her public service journey, but as an added responsibility and motivation to deepen engagement with the people, strengthen legislative interventions, and pursue initiatives that promote opportunities, empowerment, and development across Awka North and South Federal Constituency.
The recognition also comes at a time of growing visibility for the lawmaker in constituency representation and legislative engagement, as the 2027 general elections draw closer.
