Former Super Eagles defender Chikelue Iloenyosi has thrown his hat into the ring for a seat on the Nigeria Football Federation Board ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The ex-international, who currently chairs both the Anambra State FA and the Board of Trustees of the All Nigeria Football Players Union, made his declaration from South East London.

He is vying to represent the South East zone.

Iloenyosi framed his bid as a call to service, stressing that he is not desperate for the position.

“We pray to Almighty God that we succeed. If we win, we give thanks to God. If we don’t win, we still give thanks to God,” he told stakeholders.

If elected, he plans to prioritize three areas: building stronger administrative structures, expanding youth development programs, and improving player welfare across the South East.

He also appealed for cohesion among football stakeholders, saying collective support is key to driving the sport forward in Nigeria.

“We are here to support the growth of football and contribute to development in Nigerian football,” Iloenyosi said.
