The national leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has poured encomiums on Mrs Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu following her appointment as Media Aide, Strategic Communication, to the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade.
In a congratulatory letter dated Friday, 24 April 2026, SWAN President Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, through the Association’s Secretary-General Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, described the appointment as “well deserved” and a reflection of her sterling qualities.
“This remarkable achievement is a testament to your dedication, professionalism, and outstanding contributions to the field of media and communication. Your wealth of experience and proven capacity for excellence have clearly distinguished you as a worthy choice for this important role,” the letter stated.
The Association expressed strong confidence that Mrs Tobe-Chukwu would deploy her vast expertise to strengthen strategic communication, deepen public engagement, and effectively project the vision and objectives of the National Sports Commission.
SWAN also noted that her appointment comes at a pivotal moment when clear and effective communication is indispensable to the growth and development of sports in Nigeria.

President Benjamin also extended warm wishes to Mrs Tobe-Chukwu, fondly known as Tobex, praying for divine wisdom, strength, success, and fulfillment as she settles into her new role.
