Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike  has urged Nigerians to take shared responsibility for road safety, stressing that protecting lives on the nation’s highways must be a collective effort.

Speaking during her investiture as an Honourary Special Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), she challenged Nigerians to rise beyond passive concern and become active participants in the Special Marshals scheme, stressing that the fight against road crashes demands collective vigilance, discipline, and firm commitments

According to the Corps Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Deputy Corps Commander Osondu Ohaeri, the ceremony, conducted under the jurisdiction of the FCT Sector Command, was presided over by the Zonal Commanding Officer RS7HQ, ACM Comfort Asom, who represented the Corps Marshal.

In delivering the Corps Marshal’s charge, she emphasised the critical role of Special Marshals as vanguards of road safety advocacy, urging the new inductee and all volunteers to uphold the highest standards of integrity, patriotism, and service.

The investiture, carried out alongside the National Coordinator, Special Marshals, Engr. Dr. Usman Adaji, drew the presence of distinguished Honourable Justices of the Court of Appeal, lending further prestige and institutional weight to the occasion.

In his remarks, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Tijani Iliyasu, revealed the Command’s strategic resolve to deepen citizen engagement and expand the reach of road safety campaigns across the Federal Capital Territory.

He noted that the enlistment of eminent personalities such as Justice Nyesom-Wike signals a new wave of influence driven advocacy, capable of reshaping public attitudes and strengthening compliance with traffic regulations.

During her acceptance speech, Justice Nyesom-Wike issued a strong admonition against all forms of risky road behavior, urging Nigerians to consciously avoid actions that endanger lives. She called for a nationwide awakening to the realities of road crashes.
