Enyimba International FC kept hope of surviving relegation alive with a 2-1 victory over their brothers, Abia Warriors  in a thrilling Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

Chidera Michael scored a brace, including a late penalty, to help Enyimba secure the win. The Peoples Elephant took the lead 15 minutes after the restart when Chidera’s chip found the back of the net.

Abia Warriors restored parity in the 86th minute through Chukwuemeka Obioma, who scored his 10th league goal of the season. But Enyimba’s luck held as they were awarded a penalty in the 89th minute, which Chidera converted to seal the win.

The victory keeps Enyimba’s survival hopes alive, while Abia Warriors will be disappointed to have conceded a late winner.

Abia Warriors will play host to  Bayelsa United of Yenagoa at the Enyimba International Stadium on Sunday, April 5, 2026 for their week 33 game while Enyimba will travel to Bauchi to meet the team that inflicted their first injury in the season, Wikki Tourists FC
