Former Super Falcons star Maureen Mmadu has thanked the Anambra State Football Association for appointing her to the Women Football Development Committee.

Mmadu expressed her commitment to contributing her experience to help Anambra Football Association grow women’s football in the state to enviable height, emphasizing the need for structured development programs and mentorship.

In a statement after the appointment, Mmadu described her appointment as a great honour and a call to service. “I am sincerely grateful to the Anambra State Football Association for finding me worthy to serve in this important capacity. It is a privilege to be part of a team that is passionate about developing women’s football at the grassroots level,” she said.

The former international, who enjoyed a successful career with the Super Falcons, emphasized the importance of structured development programs, talent identification, and proper mentorship in building a strong foundation for young female footballers. “I am fully committed to supporting the FA in nurturing young talents, creating opportunities, and ensuring that women’s football in Anambra State reaches greater heights,” she added.

Mmadu assured the association of her full support and dedication, promising to work collaboratively with other members of the committee to achieve set goals. She highlighted the need for collective effort in promoting women’s football, saying, “Collective effort is key to sustainable development.”

She praised the Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi, for his passion about football development in the state. “I commend the chairman for his vision and commitment to making Anambra State one of the best in grassroots football development,” she said.

The appointment of Mmadu is widely seen as a strategic move by the Anambra FA to leverage her experience and passion in advancing women’s football and inspiring the next generation of players in the state.

With her wealth of experience, Mmadu is expected to make a significant impact in the development of women’s football in Anambra.

Mmadu’s experience playing for the Super Falcons and her involvement in various football initiatives make her a valuable asset to the Anambra State Football Association. Her commitment to women’s football development is expected to yield positive results and inspire young female footballers in the state.

The Anambra State Football Association has been making efforts to promote football development in the state, and Mmadu’s appointment is seen as a significant step in the right direction.
