A 2-Day Workshop on work ethics for education administrators in Anambra State Universal Education board has ended with a call on the non teaching staff to imbibe the culture of excellence in their day-to-day service delivery and management of both human and material resources in the basic education sub sector.

The event organised by the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Awka was held at the ASUBEB Utility Hall, Awka from 6th to 7th August, 2025.

The workshop themed: “Administrative Excellence and Ethical Compliance in the Delivery of Basic Education Services”, was aimed at fostering professionalism, ethical conduct and administrative integrity within the basic schools system.

In her keynote speech, the Executive Chairman, ASUBEB, Dr. Vera Nkiru Nwadinobi stressed the importance of the workshop in advancing the transformative agenda of the present administration of the State under Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

Dr. Nwadinobi noted that Prof. Soludo is keen on enhancing better public service delivery by promoting ethical behaviour in the State School system, and expressed gratitude to Mr. Governor for his relentless commitment for good governance and quality free education in the State.

Presenting her address of welcome, the Administrative Director of ASUBEB, Mrs Florence Chinweze harped on the importance of work ethics in improving daily operations, adding that integrity, professionalism, and accountability are pivotal in driving ASUBEB’s mission.

The resource person at the workshop who is the Permanent Secretary in the Office of Anambra State Head of Service, Mr. Adebayo Ojejinka spoke on “Ethics and Professional Conduct in the Public Service”, and “Misconduct and Discipline” provided a robust understanding of the consequences of unethical practices and how to uphold discipline in public service delivery.

Participants at the workshop include the ASUBEB Board members, Directors, ASUBEB Staff, and Administrative officers who were evidently inspired and motivated by the engaging discussions and expert insights.

In a vote of thanks, the Director, Social Mobilisation, Mrs Amaka Ikedinma extolled Governor Soludo for his continuous support for human capital development, which she said has been instrumental to the successes recorded by the ASUBEB Chairman in driving the Solution agenda in basic education.

She added that the workshop has equipped the participants with the essential tools to implement administrative work ethics at the highest level, urging them to put the knowledge to effective use.
