The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Command has successfully recovered a suspected stolen vehicle at its National Vehicle Identification Scheme (NVIS) Desk Office in Nteje.
According to the Sector Public Education Officer, RC Margaret Onabe, the vehicle was tracked down after an agent of the Board of Internal Revenue (BIR) sent vehicle information for verification, revealing that the vehicle had been missing for three years.
The vehicle was recovered through the collaborative efforts of the FRSC and other security agencies in the state.
The Command recovery attributed the recovery to the effectiveness of the NVIS database, which enables the FRSC to track and identify stolen vehicles.
The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Joyce Nnennaya Alexander, called on vehicle owners to upload their number plates to the NVIS portal for ease of tracking and identification.
“This recovery is a testament to the effectiveness of our NVIS database. We urge all vehicle owners to ensure that their number plates are uploaded into the NVIS portal for ease of tracking and identification,” she said.
The FRSC Anambra State Command commends its personnel and partner agencies for their efforts in recovering the stolen vehicle and assured of continued committment to enhancing road safety and security in the state.
