Kun Khalifa, Osun United Begin NPFL Promotion Chase With Victory

Kun Khalifa Football Club and Osun United have fired their dream of NPFL promotion with victory as the NNL Super8 Kicked off in Asaba yesterday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.

Chijioke Ahiaeke’s 7th minute goal from the spot against Crown FC of Ogbomoso gave his side the three points in the first match of the Southern Conference.

Osun United picked its first victory over another tournament favourites Warri Wolves courtesy of NNL Super8 opening game goal specialist Ebenezer Odeyemi.

Odeyemi had scored opening goals in three NNL Super8 tournaments with 3SC in 2022, Insurance in 2023 and Osun United in 2025.

In the northern conference, it is a barren draw affair as the game the Wikki Tourists versus Doma FC and Yobe Stars FC versus Barau FC games ended goalless.

The four teams are targeting their next game on Monday to shift ground and make relevant move to actualise NPFL promotion dream.

While Wikki Tourists will play against Barau, Yobe Stars will trade tackles against Doma at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.
