The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Club Owners’ Forum has passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) under Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, commending their commitment to developing and growing football in Nigeria.

The vote of confidence was one of the resolutions reached at the conclusion of an expanded meeting of the NPFL Club Owners’ Forum with the League, held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Hotel De Bentley, Abuja.

The meeting, which had in attendance Chairmen of the NPFL Clubs and the Leadership of the League, also commended the outstanding leadership of the NPFL under Chief Gbenga Elegbeleye and Prince Davidson Owumi, and the leadership of the NPFL Club Owners’ Forum under Chief (Dr.) Okey Kpalukwu.

Other key resolutions included the review and commendation of the 2024/2025 NPFL season, which was described as one of the most well-organized in recent history, and the approval of proposed amendments to the NPFL Framework and Rules.

The Forum also congratulated Remo Stars FC on their win in the 2024/2025 NPFL season and Rivers United and Abia Warriors on securing Nigeria’s slots in the CAF Interclub Competitions.

In addition, the Forum urged club administrators to intensify efforts in sourcing alternative revenue streams to ensure financial sustainability, and called on all stakeholders to align operational activities to ensure a seamless implementation of the 2025/2026 NPFL season calendar.

The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to continue working collectively towards the growth, professionalism, and global competitiveness of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
