Heartland Queens will continue their dogged search for first away point(s) at two-season campaigners, Dannaz Ladies in Wednesday’s NWFL Premiership matchday 13 at the iconic waterfront of Mobolaji Johnson Arena (Onikan Stadium) in Lagos Island.

Today’s showdown will be the fourth time the sides are meeting each other in the topflight, and the outcomes in the past three clashes have been one win apiece and a draw.

Prior to Wednesday’s matchup, the sides experienced mixed fortune in the hands of their matchday 12 opponents. While the visitors shared the spoils one goal apiece with the Ikenne-based premier leaguers, Remo Stars Ladies in Owerri, the hosts, Dannaz Ladies were humbled 3-1 by the champions and leaders, Edo Queens in the ancient city of Benin.

The good thing going for the Owerri side is that the sweat merchant in all the matchups remains the same coach Obi Ogbala and he is expected to dig deep into his wealth of experience to conjure a potent lineup that will see his side earn her season’s first point(s) on the road and this time off the hands of the hosts from the nation’s centre of commerce and excellence, Lagos.

Both premier leaguers have become outrightly complete outsiders for the regular season’s premium prize – NWFL Premiership Super Six playoff by their respective sixth and seventh placements on the eight-team Group A log, and are possibly together in the dugout to shore up their images and earn a respectable placement on the final listing when the curtain fell on the regular season on Wednesday, April 30.

Ogbala has been getting it right of late with his troops especially in the last game against the Sky Blue Ladies from Ikenne, Ogun state, and may be compelled to present a largely unchanged lineup to fight for the whole points at the two-season experiencers, Dannaz Ladies.

The youngster shots-stopper, Amarachi Atulayo are sure to keep her gloves in goal while watertight backline options may come from the regulars, Oluomachi Onwere, Nnenna Williams, Ebubechi Ozuruigbo, Prisca Nwachukwu and Ezinne Wokocha, while the middle options could be among the quartet, Faith Samson, Oluchi Okwara, Chizoba Johnson and youngster Endurance Omoraka, and the goal search choices will be captain Chimebere Opara, Emmanuella James, Onyinyechi Kalu, Oluebube Umejiaku and returnee, Blessing Saleh.

A good result in the showdown will be nicely welcoming to end the Owerri mainstreams’ search for away point(s), and will further shore up her nine points and sixth spot on the eight-team group’s table 23 behind champions and leaders, Edo Queens.
