The Nigeria National League Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOMA) have commended the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mallam Ibrahim Gusau on the ground breaking construction of the NFF-FIFA Hostel project and pitches.
The commendation was made on Wednesday, 19th March, 2025 by the association’s President, Mr. Godwin Enakhena during a brief chat with sports reporters.
Mr Enakhena described the development as a huge plus to the growth of Sports in the land using the instrumentality of football. The NALCOMA boss affirmed that it is coming at a time where priority needs to be given to football growth and development judging by the influx of unharnessed footballing talents at the grassroots level.
Mr Enakhena while congratulating the NFF also extended a warm felicitations to the National Sports Commission (NSC) for their support and FIFA for bankrolling the all important and unique project in the country.
The veteran sports administrator called on all stakeholders to extend a hand of fellowship through their support and by keying into the vision of the current NFF administration towards advancing the course of football development in the country.
“I wish to commend the NFF under the leadership of Mallam Ibrahim Gusau for this noble and visionary drive occasioned by the ground breaking construction of the NFF-FIFA Hostel project and pitches. This will no doubt take our football to an accelerated level judging by the influx of untapped football talents at the grassroots level.
“This is a big plus to our football and I wish to also commend the National Sports Commission (NSC) for rendering the necessary support and most importantly to the umbrella body of football in the globe, FIFA, for agreeing to fund this project in Nigeria. This is a milestone and may I use this opportunity to call on all football stakeholders in the land to lend their support to the current NFF administration under Gusau,” Enakhena said.
In a colourful ceremony held on Tuesday, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, performed the ground breaking event by cutting the tape on the epitaph, which signalled the commencement of work on the NFF-FIFA Players’ Hostel and new Training Pitches located inside the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Also present during the occasion was the delegation from FIFA, led by Gelson Fernandes (Deputy Chief Member Associations Officer/Regional Director, Africa).
