The battle between Anambra state government and native doctors is getting tougher as no fewer than 300 native doctors from various parts of the State gathered yesterday to condemn Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s crackdown on their activities.

According to The Razor reports, they prayed and vowed the governor would not be reelected in the November 8, 2025 election.

The traditional healers, who converged on a secluded location, offered prayers and performed rituals to counter the governor’s “unwarranted interference” in their affairs.

Governor Soludo had launched a campaign against cultism and social vices, which the native doctors claim targets their profession.

High Priest Ikele, the group’s leader, called the governor’s actions “unjust and discriminatory.”

“We’re not cultists or criminals,” Ikele said, adding,”We’re traditional healers serving our communities for generations. Governor Soludo’s attempts to stigmatize and suppress our activities won’t succeed.”

The native doctors vowed to continue their prayers and rituals, believing they’ll protect them from the governor’s “evil intentions and reelection.”

The state government has not responded, but sources close to the governor’s office say the administration remains committed to its anti-cultism campaign.

“Geniune native doctors have nothing to fear, as their freedom of worship and religion remains intact under the Soludo government,” the sources added.
