UNIZIK Graduate, Muodozie Joins NWFL Club, Confluence Queens

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership club, Confluence Queens of Lokoja, Kogi State has completed the signing of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) graduate and female football sensation, Emelda Ifechukwu Muodozie for an undisclosed fee.

Confluence Queens, the female professional football club side, signed Emelda Muodozie from Awka Angels Football Club for a season long loan subject to an extension for a long term deal.

Confluence Queens who currently feature in the NWFL Premiership, the top-tier professional football league for women’s association football in Nigeria, has already featured Emelda Muodozie in their first league match of the new 2024/25 NWFL season played against Remo Stars Ladies on Wednesday, 15th January, 2025 at Ayingba Stadium, Kogi State.

Emelda Muodozie who hails from Ifite-Awka in Awka South LGA of Anambra State graduated in 2023 from the Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Arts, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

She featured for the UNIZIK female football team that represented the country at the 11th edition of the All Africa University (FASU) Games hosted by Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya from 6th to 10th June, 2022 were the team finished 5th overall in the female football event.

Muodozie was also part of the UNIZIK female football team that won the bronze medal of the female football event of the 26th edition of the NUGA Games hosted by the University of Lagos (UNILAG) in March 2022.

Before signing for Confluence Queens, Muodozie played for Awka Angels FC for a period of two seasons. The sensational footballer is a utility player, who can play in central defense, full back and defensive midfield positions.

In a similar vein, Confluence Queens also signed Oluchukwu Akujieze just like Muodozie from Awka Angels FC for a season long loan subject to a permanent deal.
