Odeniran, Bosso Lead Operation ‘War Against Unregistered Coaches’ In Oyo State

Chairman, Oyo State Football Association, HRM Oba James Odeniran has led other critical stakeholders to wage war against unregistered and quack coaches from  practicing in Oyo state.

“In strict adherence to the slogan of Oyo State in the scheme of things as a pace Setter State, the end has come to the proliferation of certain individuals who go around playing friendly or competitive matches without showing their licenses ably approved by the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Oyo State Chapter ” Said the respected traditional ruler

It would be recalled that the Association launched an Operation No License, No Practice in the state on May 29 where the government representatives, State FA Chairman and other statutory bodies of NFF were present to drive home their resolve to sanitize the system.

According to the former Referee, Odeniran said: I am a proponent and advocate of professionalism and Oyo state will not allow anyone who fails to provide his/her license as approved by the state excos . It’s a security threat for someone who have no verifiable license to gather players and start playing football matches in the state without express approval of coaches Association dully recognized.

The Chairman of Nigeria Football Coaches Association, NFCA Oyo State Chapter, Akinola Olatunji while thanking the Oyo FA Boss, noted that the effects of unlicensed coaches have cumulatively discouraged those with genuine license.

“This is to assure the state FA that the Association will stamp out anyone who masquerades himself as coach but has no license to show to move to another state as quacks and uncertified coaches  as they will have no alternative than to look for another job before they land themselves in trouble in Oyo state”,

Also speaking, with newsmen at Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan. the Chairman, Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Oyo State Chapter, Coach Akinola Olatunji  described as a crime crime for any individual or group of people to train or gather players without proper certification ond registeration with the NFCA, Oyo State Chapter.

The talent developer, Olatunji , while briefing newsmen in Ibadan, read a riot act that whosoever is found training or gathering players without registering with the state Association under the Nigeria Football Coaches Association will be severally dealt with in line with extant laws guiding the administration of the Coaches Association.

“We the Executives of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (Oyo State Chapter), an affiliate of Oyo State Football Association/Nigeria Football Federation, Abuja wish to inform the general public that the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Oyo State Chapter is the only regulatory body registered with CAC . The body which cuts across the 33 Local Government in the state has over 1,394 members saddled with the responsibilities to enhance Football development in the country.

“We can unequivocally inform you that the Association has a Uniform Identity Cards which distinguishes us from quacks and in a bid to consolidate this, we are going to ensure that all registered coaches with Operational License alone is allowed to practice so as to regulate and sanitize the body in our dear state.”

“We have presented to the state FA all our certified football coaches with samples of Operational License”. said coach Ayodeji Charles Adeyemo.

This no doubt will save our children that intend to play football from the quack coaches to get it right from the scratch. Whoever is found practicing anywhere in the state without the license will not like to tell the story thereafter “.

Dignitaries and special guests present at the Launching and Unveiling of Nigeria Football Coaches Association Oyo State Chapter Coaches Operational license were Otunba Seye Famojuro Chief Launcher, Hon. Waslat Adegoke (Commissioner for Youth and Sports), Chief Host, HRM Oba James Odeniran Royal Father of The Day.

Others were Alhaji Hazmat Ismail Kolade (CEO Cool Global Interlinks Co- Launcher), Barrister Rotimi Ali (Chairman Ibadan Zonal Football Association Special Guest of Honour), Adeyemi Foundation Special Guest, Mr. Kehinde Ojelowo Special Guest.From Coach Akinwunmi Isogun General Secretary NFCA Oyo State Chapter
