Westerlo U21 midfielder, Obijohn Onyeka says he is confident his Belgian Junior Pro League side will end the season as league champions with head coach Eric Reenaers’ technical ingenuity at the dugout.

Westerlo U21 are the league leaders with 48 points from 21 games. They are three points better than second placed Eupen U21 who could not capitalise on Westerlo’s 1-1 home draw with St. Truiden in the last league game. Eupen were also held to a 1-1 draw by SV Beveren on March 28th in a game a win would have lowered the points gap to Westerlo to just one point.

Obijohn Onyeka in a chat disclosed that he is having an unforgettable experience in the Belgian League with Westerlo U21 and that his decision to leave South Korea for Europe has been Blessing in disguise because his game has improved a lot.

“My experience in Belgium is really perfect for my football career and since I arrived Belgium, I have improved a lot. I believe you know that Asian football is totally different from Europe and I am adjusting to life as fast as possible.

Obijohn Onyeka affirmed that as they face RWD Molenbeek U21 side on Friday away, he is certain head coach, Eric Reenaers would fashion out a winning formation to ensure they remain at the top.

Onyeka jnr said he would always be ready to contribute his quota towards ensuring that Westerlo teams be it in the U19 or U21 excel in all the competitions they participate in.

“I have so much confidence and believe in our head coach, Eric Reenaers. With him, we have what it takes to be successful and to win the league. His impact and that of others in the technical crew has been very massive in our quest to win the league title.”

Obijohn Onyeka affirmed that he and his teammates are ready for the game with RWD Molenbeek and that they have a strong conviction that they would beat the fourth placed side.

“We are prepared for the away game at Molenbeek and we are aware we must continue winning to stay at the top of the table. I will abide by the coach’s decision and whether I play or I am on the bench, my priority is for us to win the game.”
