Awka City Stadium To Host Kabe College 2024 Inter House Sports Competition

All is set for the 2024 Kabe College Amawbia annual Inter House Sports Competition tagged Festival of Hope 

The Director of the College, Mr. Joseph Okeke while speaking to newsmen in Awka said that this year’s edition will be unique.

According to him, the management of the College wants to use the event to rekindle the nostalgia for sports and recreational events for the students as well as its staff in the school after about four years of inactivity.

“We acknowledge the essence of sports in the physical, social and mental well-being of the students of our school and this is why we are putting up a unique Inter House Sports Competition, already there is great excitement and energy building up for the students in anticipation of the D-Day”,

“Today, sports have gone beyond just for entertainment and healthy living but as a career and multi-million dollar industry and we recognize that Kabe College has amazing talents in the areas of track and field, team sports and board games”,

“We termed the upcoming Inter House Sports competition a ‘Festival of Hope’ as we recognize the role this will play in the bonding of our students and preparing them for external and inter school sports programme now and in the future”,

“We have provided all that is necessary for hitch-free games including Health and Security wise so we call on parents, friends and well wishers to turn up in their numbers on Saturday to cheer these students while on the track displaying their sporting prowess,” the Director said.

The annual Inter House School Sports Competition which is scheduled to hold at the Awka City Stadium tomorrow Saturday, 23rd March 2024 will have over 200 male and female students of the school grouped into six houses competing against each other for supremacy.

A total of 10 sporting events including track, field, board games and team events will feature at the annual school sports programme.

100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres, 800 metres and 1500 metres are the track events while Discus, Javelin, High Jump and Long Jump are the  field events for the day.

The team sports events will feature Football and Volleyball while for the board games, Table Tennis, Scrabble, Chess and Ncho will be competed for by students for their various Houses.

Kabe College Amawbia known for pursuit of excellence and  delivering of innovation and quality academic and moral education has been in existence for over two decades.
