Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) on Friday commenced the Youths’ Entrepreneurship Training Programme for serving Youth Corps Members from selected Organizations in Abuja.

This was disclosed in a statement released by the Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Emmanuel Tortiv.

AEA’s Ag. MD/CEO Mr. Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe encouraged the participants to see themselves as opportune few who are chosen out of the several graduates while in service that will benefit from the six weeks training programme.

Mr. Ugwuada-Ezirigwe said the main purpose of the training was to assist the Corps Members in their quest to create wealth by laying their hands on gainful enterprises after service.

He said this will save them the needless roaming of the streets in search of ‘elusive white collar jobs’ after service to fatherland with attendant consequences of rising unemployment and economic hardships that can best be addressed through the self-employment window.

Speaking further, the Ag. AEA’s Boss said “today, you are going to start your journey to economic liberation in terms of your future economic life. I urge you to see this training as a beacon to economic fortunes that will completely change your lives at the end of the six weeks you will be attending”.

Mr. Ugwuada-Ezirigwe intimated the trainees of existing financial support services offered by the Agency on behalf of her partners like the Central Bank of Nigeria and other Development Partners.

He called on them to follow the laid down rules and regulations to maximally achieve the best from the training.

In two separate testimonies, Mr. Ekoja Raphael who represented the MD of Abuja Investment Company LTD and Mal. Hussaini Hassan Suleiman who represented the D.G of Securities and Exchange Commission recalled their personal experiences of starting up and growing their SMEs to successful levels as a motivation to the youths to strive hard for success.

The Corps Members attending the six weeks training are drawn mainly from the Nigeria Export Promotion Council, FCT Internal Revenue Service, Abuja Investment Company LTD, Securities and Exchange Commission among others.
