Kogi United, Flight FC Set To Settle Scores In Unity Preseason Tournament Final

Kogi United of Lokoja will once again test their might against Flight FC of Gboko in the final of the maiden edition of the Unity Preseason Tournament for NLO teams in the North Central.

The tournament which started on Saturday 24 February will climax on Sunday 4 March at Government Day Secondary School Gwagwalada Abuja playing pitch.

When the two teams met at the preliminary stage, the Transporters from Gboko ran away with a lone goal.

To get to the final, the United boys from the confluence state had the best of a crunchy encounter with Like Minds FC of Gwagwalada by a lone. While, the transporters from Gboko, Benue state came from a goal down to see off Oyah Sports FC of Suleja, Niger State by two goals to one.

Speaking on the tournament, the General Coordinator of the Unity Preseason tournament, Patrick Ngwaogu said it was fun all through.

“Sincerely, with this now, i can appreciate the level of football development in the country. I have been organising that for the NPFL and NNL clubs, now that i have taken it further to the NLO clubs, i now know their mentality and appreciate them at all level”.

He was full of appreciation to all the twelve teams from the North Central that participated in tournament, the North Central NLO Board representative, Barrister Babatunde Akintade among other who made the tournament a reality.
