The Lagos Mainland Education Authority hosted its 2023 Community Education Development Forum on Thursday, 26/10/23 for the promotion of Child’s Education and Rights of Children in the society.

The forum Themed” Promoting Child Education and Right of Children in Our Society” attracted sector based degnitaries such as Barrister Sam Ogungbamila who addressed the forum.
Barr. Ogungbamila said Parents should be cautious of what they do, because whatever negative vices the Children display today is because we missed from the beginning.

Speaking on the theme of the event, he emphasized on the right of the child to be in school, He however flay Parents who blame or attack teachers for inputting disciplinary measures on their children, insisting that failure to check vices from the beginning can destroy the Child’s future.

Expectedly, the Education Secretary Barrister Tajudeen Tijani, who is the Chief host of the forum commended his team for executing today’s task as they always do, he however appealed to education stakeholders to assist innocent and indigent students who did not place themselves in the environment they are.

He insisted that if these children have the right to chose the environment they wish to be born, they would definitely choose better place.

Interestingly, the forum which was attended by dignitaries across the education sector in Lagos was also addressed by Lagos State Parents forum Chairman, Elder Olusoji Adams who said during the occasion that Education is an industry in Lagos Mainland and that we can’t afford to fail.

He appealed to parents to give their children good education for it is the only legacy parents can bequeath them.
The representative of the Tutored General of district 2 Mrs. Shoyoye informed the forum that whatever they do as parents, teachers etc, people study them, there’s no task that goes unnoticed.

“When you sow seed on the little ones, you may not know where they would be in future, therefore, don’t give up on them”, She said.

Partners and friends of the forum also graced the occasion such as, Hope Ambassador and Child Care Organisation, Barr Delẹ Ogundimu, Golden Mother International Club, Alaja Chief (Mrs) Ogunniki Afolake, Hon Obilanade, Sadak and Zadakat Organisation, Seyi Adelakun. Chief Ogunbanjo Francis and Alh. Chief Mrs Shabi Sharpman and others.

At the end, awards were given to deserving participants in recognition of their interventions to Schools in Lagos Mainland.

The Lagos Mainland Head of Section, Social Mobilization Officers and one of the hosts of the forum, Mrs. Oke Abimbola was commended as she within six months of her resumption in the Lagos Mainland Local Government Education Authority was able to organise Parents, Women, School Based Management Committee (SBMC) for a successful Community Forum.

It was an expository moment where emphasis is laid on communal effort to train up our children and ensuring they all have access to quality and effective education .
