Former Chairman of Nasarawa United FC, and now Permanent Secretary, Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Barr. Isaac Danladi, has officially handed over the affairs of the Club to Dr. Othman Ahmed Ibrahim, the newly appointed Chairman.
Speaking at a brief handing over ceremony on Friday in his office in Lafia, Danladi explained that he had been in charge of the Club for nearly twelve years, during which period he made tremendous progress with the Solid Miners, including emerging twice as Football Association(FA)Cup Runners-Up, in 2016 in Lagos, and 2021, in Benin City, Edo State, as well as participating in Confederation of Africa Football(CAF) Inter-Club Competitions.
He added that his leadership helped to reposition the team and made it a formidable force to reckon with in Nigeria’s inter-club competitions, notably the Nigeria Premier Football League and FA knockout Competition while producing some of the best talents and coaches in the round leather game.
Barr. Danladi expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, and the good people of the State as well as the Club’s stakeholders for reposing confidence in him throughout his leadership.
He opined that his new endeavour as Permanent Secretary still provides him the avenue to lend his onerous support to his successor and club, including rallying the needed support to return it back to the elite domestic football league in the shortest possible period.
Speaking after receiving the hand over note, the new Club Supremo, Dr. Othman, commended the outgone Chairman for the feats he achieved with the Club during his leadership.
He assured that he would study the document carefully and learn from the vast experience of the former Chairman to take the Club to where it should be.
While wishing the former Chairman well in his new office, Othman appealed for the maximum support from him and Staff of the Ministry to succeed.
Recall that the Nasarawa State Government, on Tuesday, 17th October, 2023, announced the recomposition of the Management of Nasarawa United FC, with Dr. Othman appointed to chair a Five-man Committee.
