The Nigeria Professional Football League Club Owners Association have set up a 5-man Committee to Liaise with the Interim Management Committee IMC for a smooth kick off of the new NPFL 2022/2023 season.
According to the Chairman of the Club Owners Association of Nigeria Barr. Isaac Danladi in a circular to all the Clubs, the Committee is to interface with the IMC to ensure that the league kicks off as soon as possible and to finish at a record time to align with the International Football calendar.
The Committee has one week to submit its report to the Association, Danladi said.
Recall that the IMC led by the Chairman Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye met with the representatives of the participating clubs last week in Abuja where 16 clubs out of 20 voted against the proposed abridged league by the IMC.
The 5-Man Committee of the Club Owners Association is headed by the General Manager of Rivers United Dr. Okey Kpalukwu as Chairman, Malam Abubakar Danfulani of Gombe United, Hon. Tunde Ogunja of Sunshine stars FC and Barr. Frednald Emeka of Rangers as members while the Executive Secretary of the Club Owners Association Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka is to serve as the Secretary.
No official kick off date has been announced for the NPFL season several months after the season ended, with most countries almost in the second round of their leagues.
