Enyimba of,Aba have emerged winners of the 2022 edition of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu Preseason Tournament concluded Sunday afternoon in Aba after a 4-2 on penalty kicks following a 2-2regulatiin time scoreline.

It was a pyrrhic triumph for the People’s Elephants who shockingly came back from a 2-0 set back to lift the trophy.

Before Sunday’s classic finale, Enyimba FC enjoyed a five match clean sheet run.

They were thus forced into dreamland when the Asaba Troops pressed the throttle cable fast and hard right from the off.

And before the George Finidi side could adjust themselves, they were already two goals behind.

But the two time African Champions hauled themselves back into the game in the second period, cancelling out the two goal deficit to force the game into penalty kicks.

Both side completed the game with 10 men with Apex Kranes playing a greater part of the second period with one man down.

However, Enyimba were equally reduced to 10 men during the stoppage time.
