Comrade Talatu Godwin Monday, a senior staff with the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, Nasarawa State, has emerged the new Chairperson of Association of Health Records And Information Management Practitioners of Nigeria, AHRIMPN, Nasarawa State Chapter.
She took over from Comr. Badamasi Alhassan whose tenure elapsed recently.
Mrs Monday was unanimously elected by 37 delegates at the Association’s Elective Congress held in Keffi, Nasarawa State, on Saturday, 12th November, 2022, after her opponent,
Musa Ibrahim, stepped down in mutual agreement.
In her acceptance remarks, Comrade Monday who hails from Nasarawa Local Government Area expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in her, assuring that she would take clues from her predecessor.
She assured to ensure that new policies and programmes that have direct and impactful bearing on members of the Association and general good of the body are propagated.
“Thank you for choosing me to lead this great Association with people of impeccable competencies and track records.
“By the grace of God, my leadership shall focus on my pre-election promises, which include carrying everybody along, consolidating on the achievements of my predecessor, be accountable and transparent, prioritize the welfare of members, and other policies which will help to take the Association and its members to an enviable height.
“However, all these can only be achievable if we work as team and give maximum maximum support to the new leadership.”
Additionally, she assured of her capability to cope with the tasks ahead, disclosing that she would work assiduously with every member of the Association to change the narrative.
Other elected executive officials of the Association are, Na’Ali Haliru(Vice Chairman); Gimba Hassan(General Secretary); Umar Akoshi(Assistant Secretary-General); Sambo Palang(Financial Secretary); Rabiu Mohammed (Treasurer); Musa Ibrahim(PRO), Justina Adanu(Auditor) and Aishatu Abubakar(Women’s Leader).
Representatives from AHRIMPN, National body, Abuja; Nasarawa State Hospital Management Board, Lafia; DASH, Lafia; and Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, witnessed the election and subsequent inauguration of the new leadership.
The new Chairperson and her Board will serve a tenure of four years in office.
The Association of Health Records and Information Management Practitioners of Nigeria has its mandates, among others, to promote and develop health records and information management in the country, ensure compliance to standards of practice, advance knowledge, sharing and disseminating relevant healthcare data and information to users at various levels of healthcare service delivery in Nigeria.
