Nigerian Institute of Management, South East Zone Holds Successful 2022 Summit

The Nigerian institute of Management (NIM, Chartered) South East Zone Wednesday 21st July held a successful 2022 Zonal Summit of the Institute in Awka, Anambra state, South East Nigeria.

The event which took place at the Hilton Leisure Resort and Hotel, Awka had a massive attendance of members from across the country especially South East Zone and other eminent personalities.

In his address, the President and Chairman f Council, Nigerian Institute of Management, Brigadier-General Abdulahi Iyanda Muraina said that zonal summit affords zones the opportunity to come together and discuss contemporary issues in the management profession, the zones and the nation’s economy at large.
The President who was ably represented by the Deputy President, Dr. (Mrs) Christy Ataku described the theme of the summit, LEADERSHIP AND NIGERIA’S QUEST FOR PROSPERITY: CHALLENGES AND BLUEPRINT as very appropriate and relevant.

Earlier n his welcome address, the Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Management, South East Zone, Chief Gabriel Obasi Udu said the Institute despite many challenges which affected the zone’s programs in 2020/2021 resolved to organize the 2022 Summit to prove that hey are God’s people and professional managers who see good in a problem every time.

He described the theme of the summit as the contribution of the Institute to the reduction of the problems being faced in Nigeria.

A cerebral academic and emeritus professor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, who is also the National President of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Prof. Benjamin Chuka Osisioma who was represented by his wife, Prof Hilda Osisioma presented the Keynote address.

Highlight of the day was the presentation of award of excellence in management to six distinguished managers including the Vice Chancellor Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Prof. Charles Esimone and Prof. Benjamin Chuka Osisioma.

Others are, former Vice Chancellor Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Prof. Jude Njoku, former Dean Faculty of Education, UNIZIK, Prof Ogochukwu Tabugbo Ibeneme, a renowned auditor, Chief Awa Erem Okpan and former Head of Service, Ebonyi state, Chief Dominic Ajah.

The Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Prof. Anayo Mkamnebe in his vote of thanks appreciated God for the huge success of the program and thanked participants for making constructive impact.
