Heartland Queens FC no-nonsense defender, Amarachi Dike has assured 100% clean sheet against last group match opposite, Crystal Stars.
The Owerri side are penciled to clash with the Yenagoa side in NWFL Championship last group match on Sunday at the Training Pitch of the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, Ogun state.
Dike posited that her side have done pretty well in the past four matches and are determined to make it a 100% record against Crystal Stars.
“So far so good for us in the ongoing NWFL Championship and coming to the defence we are doing pretty well.
“Prior to coming to the Championship we had something in mind and that’s to pick the promotion ticket for Imo state. We want to prove to the Imolites the qualities we are made of.
“My take in our last match against Crystal Stars is that we are here for outright victory and as defenders we must maintain 100% clean sheet, we are not going to concede any goal. Our mindset is to ensure we do not concede a goal.
“Of course, I believe in the singsong tagged five over five, that’s 100% performance in the championship, we have won four remaining the last match against Crystal Stars.
“I’m confident we will achieve the mark given the qualities and spirit among my teammates, their spirit is quite high and they want to use the championship to make a bold statement that they are women team to be reckoned with in the land,” said Dike who uses both legs.
The former Delta Queens strongwoman said she hopes to up her value with her credible performances at the championship.
“Of course, I have personal target and I believe when you excel in any competition it goes a long way to enhance your potential so I expect such enhancement coming to me at the end of the day,” said the NWFL Championship one goal heroine.
As the 2021/2022 NWFL Championship is being concluded on Sunday, June 19 the top team in each of the two groups will automatically gain promotion to the mainstream Nigerian women league, NWFL Premiership.
