Over 80 Teams To Participate In Maiden Ali Pate Peace And Unity Cup

Over 80 grassroot teams are taking part in the maiden edition of the Professor Ali Pate Peace and Unity Cup in Bauchi State

The tournament which is being organized by the Bauchi State Football Association will involve teams from the 20 Local Government Areas of the state.

Confirming this in Bauchi , the Bauchi State FA Chairman Patrick Pascal (MON) said the tournament which is in honour of the Honourable Minister of Health Professor Ali Pate, who he described as an epitome of peace in state will commence in the last week of November.

Pascal who is the Super Eagles Coordinator said the teams have been divided into the three Senatorial zones of the state, from where qualifiers will emerge.

The former International said that invitations have been extended to international and local scouts to ensure that talented players are given the opportunity to move their games to the next levels.

Professor Muhammad Ali Pate is Minister of Health and Social Welfare.

He is a lover of the youths, and also a professor of the Practice of Public Health Leadership in the Department of Global Health and Population at Harvard University.

He formerly served as the Minister of State (Health) during the Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
