The Department of Applied Microbiology and Brewing, Faculty of Biosciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State is set to hold her maiden Alumni Converge, Reunion and Award Presentation.
The August occasion which is set to hold on Wednesday, November 8th 2023, at the ASUU NAU Secretariat complex UNIZIK by 11am has its theme as “The Homecoming of Champions”.
The special event will feature fundraising of One Hundred Million Naira for Microbiology Ultra Modern Laboratory, Award Presentation to outstanding alumni members, founding lecturers and friends of the Department as well as inauguration of the Departmental Alumni Association while there will be presentation of specific laboratory equipment by various alumni sets to the Department.
Former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Barr.) Kingsley Chukwuma Iruba will chair the occasion with Prof. Obinna Nwiyi as the event’s Keynote Speaker. The Royal Father of the day is the Traditional Ruler of Amansea Kingdom, HRH Igwe Peter Chukwuma Anigbogu with the Special Guest of Honour as Hon. Ossy Onuko, MD/CEO of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority.
Chief Host is UNIZIK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Charles Esimone, FAS; Co-Host is the Dean Faculty of Biosciences, Prof. Innocent Igwilo while the Host is the Head, Department of Applied Microbiology and Brewing, Prof. S.O. Umeh. Dr. Chito Ekwealor is the Chairperson, Planning Committee while Dr. Chinenye Ezebialu is the Secretary of the Planning Committee.
