Abia Comets Football Club of Umuahia on Tuesday unveiled former Abia Warriors Assistant Coach, Kelvin Ejeh as it’s new Head Coach.
This is in preparation for the new Nigeria National League season.
Coach Ejeh popularly called “Mouriho” by his admirers, only last week resigned his appointment as the Assistant Coach of Abia Warriors FC.
Mouriho who signed a two year contract with the NNL side, will aim at tinkering the team to prominence in the new season.
The former Nigeria Army officer is coming to Abia Comet with huge experience having worked as Assistant Coach, after serving as the Coach of the Abia Warriors Youth team for many years.
Last season, he assisted Coach Erasmus Onuh to earn the Umuahia Warriors a 4th place in the group B of the 2023 NPFL season.
Coach Kelvin Ejeh is a CAF licensed coach and also a graduate of La Liga Methodology course level 1-5, Basic certificate course at the National Institute of sports, and Advance Certificate course at the National Institute of sports, as well as six years Military service.
Reacting to the engagement of Ejeh in his club, Abia Comets FC Chairman, Chief Boniface Alozie Uche expressed happiness in the engagement, saying that the club is convinced that coach Ejeh is capable of leading Abia Comets to the next level, in the new football season.
He said that his team is ready to push for promotion to the top tier League in the coming season.
In the same vein, the Sporting Director Engr. Kelechi Orji Nnorom who was pleased with the recent development saying that Coach Ejeh has what it takes to achieve set targets considering his experience and rich CV.
He added that the management will provide him with the needed support to thrive and succeed in line with the new youthful recruitment policy of the club.
