Nasarawa United experienced their first Pre-Season match defeat since relocating to the Tin City, Jos.

The team lost 0-1 to fellow Nigeria Professional Football League opponents, Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi, in a tensed game decided at the New Jos Stadium, Plateau State, on Wednesday afternoon.

Despite enjoying a larger percentage of ball possession, it was the Giant Elephants from Bauchi who carried the day following a terrific set piece from Nelson Abiam four minutes into the restart.

The Solid Miners poured everything at their guests in the quest to alter the scoreline, but the Bauchi side held firmly to end the physical but entertaining clash in their favour.

Both sides will meet again in a return-leg encounter on Thursday, 10th November, 2022, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, in the afternoon.
