Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Amb. Lucky Isaac Yargwa, has emerged as ‘Youth Emancipator of the Year’.
Presenting the award to the Commissioner in his office in Lafia, on Wednesday, organizers of the 2022 Queen of Nasarawa Beauty Pageant Achievers’ Award, powered by De-Light Media Entertainment, headed by its founder and Chief Executive Officer, Eze Best, said the recipient was picked from a pool of nominees due to his overwhelming achievements and contributions to the welfare and progress of youth of Nasarawa State and beyond.
He mentioned constant and unfettered access and inclusion of youth in various areas in the Governor Sule administration, according youth numerous innovative and creative opportunities to better their lot.
He said the commissioner also provided an enabling environment for youth to showcase their abilities, and supporting the policies and programmes of youth in the State to make them compete favourably with their counterparts around the globe, as some of the reasons the Commissioner was conferred with the award.
Shortly after receiving the award, the Commissioner said,
“I am deeply humbled by this huge recognition. Little did I know that my little contributions are being monitored and noticed by the society, and even deserving of this acknowledgement”,
“I live my life for God and humanity, and it gives me great pleasure to see the needs of people being met, especially those of my fellow constituents.
“This is, however, a call for me to do more for our youth, humanity and society.
“But more importantly, I thank my Principal, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, for finding me worthy to work in his cabinet and contribute my quota to the success of his administration and general welfare of the citizens and State as a whole.”
Yargwa called on the new Queens and Organizers of the Beauty Pageant to be true ambassadors of the State in whatever area of endeavour, and uphold the culture and values of the State within the period of their reign.
While wishing them success in the task ahead, he assured of the Ministry’s unwavering support in areas of importance for the success of the Queen’s and host Organisation, revealing that the Governor Abdullahi Sule-led administration has deliberate programmes lined up to cater for the needs of youth in the State in order to make them self-reliant and productive.
Earlier, the Senior Special Assistant(SSA) to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Youth Affairs, Hon. Shuaibu Sani, congratulated winners at the Beauty Pageant held on Saturday at the Kini Country Guest Inn, Akwanga, and appreciated the Organisers for finding the Commissioner worthy of the award.
He said the award was apt, timely and deserving as the recipient has repeatedly proven beyond reasonable doubts that his appointment by Governor Abdullahi Sule was not a fluke but a testament to his capacity and charisma to emancipate the youth and make them resourceful to their families, immediate and distant societies.
