The Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, has sent a resounding congratulatory message to the Nigeria Volleyball Federation and the Nigeria Women’s Beach Volleyball team after their spectacular performance in securing Africa’s sole ticket to the Olympic Games.

The historic achievement by the Beach Volleyball Queens has brought immense pride to the nation and further validates the recent developmental efforts within the sport. Reacting to the victory, Hon. Olopade praised the seamless synergy between the Federation and the Commission, while expressing his strong belief in the team’s ability to win a medal on the global stage.

> “Congratulations to the Volleyball Federation. This is true Federation leadership in true collaboration with the NSC,” Hon. Olopade stated. “The fast growth of Volleyball and Beach Volleyball is something I have been talking about for months. And they are a potential podium team at the Olympics.”

The Director-General’s remarks highlight a new era of growth and stability for Nigerian volleyball. Over the past few months, the NSC has actively monitored and commended the rapid development of the sport across the country, recognizing beach volleyball as a highly viable avenue for international glory.

By clinching the only available Olympic slot for the African continent, Nigeria’s Beach Volleyball Queens have firmly established themselves as a dominant continental force. As preparations for the Olympic Games begin in earnest, the National Sports Commission’s endorsement serves as a massive boost, reinforcing the belief that with the right support, the team can transition from African champions to actual podium contenders on the world’s biggest sporting stage.
