The first round of the NPFL season is wrapping up this weekend and Enyimba FC is set to host Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) at the Enyimba International Stadium, Aba.

Petit winger, Nwaorisa Austin Onyebuchi is confident the team will make their fans proud as they aim to end the round on a high note in the old rivalry war in Aba this Sunday.

The “WABIA” derby scheduled between the People’s Elephant and Oluyole Warriors on Sunday in Aba, promises a thrilling encounter

It has always been a fierce battle between the two traditional sides from the Western and Eastern areas of the nation with Enyimba holding the edge with 10 wins out of 22 meetings since 2009 while the Ibadan side has 5 wins as 7 ended in a draw.

Speaking with Enyimba Media ahead of the ‘WABIA’ derby, Nwaorisa who opened his goal account for the Nine time league champions didn’t hide his joy to play for his dream club, expressing his desire to win more trophies with the 2 time CAF champions League winners.

“I thank God that i am part of this great club, it’s a dream come true for me. My desire is to be a champion with Enyimba

“They have won the league nine times and the CAF champions League twice and I want to win with them again.

“Am happy i was able to get my first league goal and for the club against Elkanemi. It feels good and I hope to score many more because it’s a good platform for me.

“On Sunday we take on 3SC and we have been working very hard with the technical crew. We intend to end the first round on a winning note and do more during the second round for a top finish as well as get a continental ticket.

“We urge our fans not to relent in their awesome support so far for us. We promise that this is Enyimba and we will make them proud by finishing the league strong and challenge for the trophy and continental ticket.”So we urge the fans to come out en mass and give the support as we hoe to make the last game of the year a memorable one with the maximum 3 points.

Enyimba FC takes on 3SC in their 23rd top flight meetings at the Elephant Park in match day 19 on Sunday December 28th, 2025 by 4pm.
