The 2025 Super 8 competition has come to an end, with Warri Wolves emerging as champions and earning promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Warri Wolves Football Club got promoted alongside Wikki Tourists FC, Kun Khalifa FC and Barua FC at the tournament held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta state from 5th to 12th July, 2025

Speaking to www.newspathfinder.com at the end of the week long tournament, the Chairman of Sporting Lagos and President, NNL Club Owners, Mr Godwin Enakhena said the teams’ success was well-deserved noting that all four teams that earned promotion to the NPFL did so through their performances on the pitch.

According to him, the NNL 2025 Super8 delivered quality teams to the NPFL. He  pointed out that in the last two years, NNL has been consistent with all round quality delivery taking into consideration NNL team winning the FA cup last year and this year got to the finals.

While congratulating the teams for their hard work and determination which earned them promotion, he commended the NNL Board led by Mr George Aluo for organising a smooth and successful event.

“I think God is the God of justice, there’s this parable that the cow with no tail, that God will help drive away flies. That is the situation with the chairman, George Aluo. When we were coming to Delta, we were told that we were coming to waste time, that Warri wolves has won. That he has given the promotion ticket to Warri wolves”,

“Fortunately we got here and we have seen that Warri Wolves qualifying for the premier League, they earned it, they worked so hard. All the four teams that moved to the premier League earned their victory on the pitch of play. We all saw the finals. We saw how hard it was”,

“So, I will say it’s been a fantastic competition. The best teams have qualified to represent the NNL in the NPFL. Kudos to the NNL and everyone that has been a part of this success story”, he said
