.…Sends 8157 To Labour Market

Nnamdi Azikiwe University has awarded first degree honours to 8157 graduands of the institution for the 2023/24 academic session.
This disclosure was made by the Acting Vice-Chancellor of UNIZIK, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu during his remarks on the occasion of award of first degree of the institution as part of the 19th Convocation Ceremonies held at the convocation arena on Thursday, 27th March, 2025.
Prof. Ikechebelu disclosed that the institution produced 167 Postgraduate Diplomas, 706 NTI PGDEs, 680 Masters Degree, 463 Ph.D degrees and 16 Doctors of Business Administration (DBA) degree from the UNIZIK Business School.
Prof. Ikechebelu informed that his administration came on board with a short-term mission as Acting Vice-Chancellor tagged BLESSeD UNIZIK simplified as Beautify UNIZIK, Light-up UNIZIK, Excellent UNIZIK, Safe and Secure UNIZIK and to Digitize UNIZIK, with a hedgehog concept of HPS Squared – Happy Productive Staff and Happy Progressive Students.
Prof. Ikechebelu highlighted some of his administration’s achievements such as re-establishing of the perimeter fencing; restoring steady power supply; recovery of green spaces and maintenance of lawns; restoration of drainage systems and walkways; repair and repainting of the beautiful gate and many more achievements within a short period.
The acting VC thanked the Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Finance, the National Universities Commission (NUC) and Tertiary Education Trustfund (TETFund) as well as staff and students of the institution for their support towards the success story.
The event also featured induction of the graduates into the UNIZIK Alumni performed by the Global Alumni President of UNIZIK, Dr. Ikechukwu Umeh. There was also a valedictory speech and quintessential performance by the Best Graduating Student of the 2023/24 academic session, Tochukwu Onyeze Egwuchika from the Faculty of Engineering with a FCGPA of 4.95
Others principal officers who made their remarks during the colourful ceremony were the Chancellor of the institution, His Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba, CFR and the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Governing Council, Barr. Monsur Olugbenga Kukoyi.
