It has been revealed that banks, hospitals, mechanized farmers and transport operators as well as diverse other drivers of development have deserted most part of Anambra State due to the untold neglect by the state government that had continued over the years till the today.
The worst hit were Awka North, Oyi, Ayamelum, Anambra East and West Council areas. Others include the Orumba North and South axis of the State.
But all that would change soon, when the Labour Party (LP)comes on board to pilot the governance and wellbeing of the State.
This was revealed during the recent multi-pronged interaction between the favorite LP governorship aspirant, for the November 8,2025 poll, Chief George Moghalu and stakeholders/the party’s Wards and Councils executives.
The situation was so worrisome to observe that these four Councils that researchers/experts widely acknowledged to be capable of feeding the five States of South East geo-political zone have been serially abandoned by successive State governments for decades.
The tears and cries of abject neglect raised at Nzam(Anambra West); Otuocha, (Anambra East); Omor(Ayamelum) were similar to what were witnessed at Umunze (Orumba North); Awgbu (Orumba South) and Aguata in Aguata Council areas of the state when Chief Moghalu met stakeholders and party chiefs in continuation of his grassroots visit of these Council areas.
A bewildered Moghalu who broke down as the leaders of these areas narrated their plight with teary eyes.
Variously they lamented their initial resolve not to talk to any aspirant about the political fraud visited on them over the years.
That the last they usually see and hear from the politicians was during campaigns when they normally come with promises but once elected, it becomes bye-bye.
But Venerable Chris Orajekwe(at Umunze), Hon Bonny Okoye(of Umelum, at Ayamelum) and Honourable Ferdinand (at Amansea) admitted that there was something outstandingly different and special about Moghalu that endeared him to their people.
Summarizing the individual and collective presentations of their people they admitted their people ‘s decision to stand with and support Moghalu in all ramifications.
That they saw sincerity, openness and determination to improve the lot of Anambra citizens in him.
Chief Moghalu expressed his deep appreciation for their kind words of political support, love and goodwill. He therefore urged the party delegates amongst them to come out on April 5, 2025 and vote for him massively at the LP primary election.
He wondered how any person of honour would publicly make a promise to the citizens but chicken out after victory was secured. Moreso, that no one would blame investors for running away from areas where even the government of the state ran away from.
He vowed in his honour that all this false/empty promises shall change once he’s elected.
He noted that his impeccable track record of distinction and service showed that he’s ever open to all, and makes his words his bond always.
