As the 7th December date for the World Boxing Federation (WBF) World Title Fight in Port Harcourt draws nearer, organisers, Zeus Sports and Entertainment have gotten their quest for partnerships boosted by the coming onboard of Keves Global Leasing Limited.
KGL will be providing different logistics and security to the big event.
The reality of being part of the world class event gladdens the heart of Chief Ikenna Okafor, CEO of Keves Global Leasing as he expressed delight over staging such boxing event of international recognition in Port Harcourt.
“I am most delighted to be part of this unbelievable event that you are bringing to Rivers State, I have been involved in different sports like Polo and football but being part of this International boxing show gives me a different feeling” He said.
Chief Okafor lamented the fact that government, companies and rich individuals in the state have neglected investing in sports such as boxing thereby leading to a significant decline.
He called on the state governor, Siminalaye Fubara to partner with the promotion outfit Zeus Sports and Entertainment since it will impact on youth development and change the narrative of what people hear about Rivers State.
“I am calling on our Sports loving Governor to support this event as it will be memorable, uplifting experiences and as well help our youths who are talented in boxing”
Promoter Emmanuel Emenogu thanked Chief Okafor for his continuous investment in sports while assuring that the 7 December showpiece will go a long way in reviving the sport, unearthing and throwing up many talented fighters out of the State.
The show tagged “Simplified Rumble in Rivers for Champions” will see London based Taiwo Agbaje (16-0, 11KOs) take on Loren Japheth (18-7-3, 4KOs) of Tanzania for the WBF Featherweight world Title in the feature bout of the night.
There will be ten bouts in all including a female International bout featuring unbeaten WBC Silver Featherweight champion, Elizabeth Oshoba (8-0, 5KOs) and the return of the undefeated former World Heavyweight title contender, Ike ‘President’ Ibeabuchi (20-0, 15KOs).
The ‘Simplified Rumble in Rivers for Champions’ will hold at the Alfred Diete Spiff Sports Complex in Port Harcout, Rivers State on 7 December.
