Nnamdi Azikiwe University has said that the audio clip making rounds claiming that students with outstanding carryovers have been granted clemency is false.

This was disclosed by the SAVC, Public Relations and Special Duties, Dr Emma Ojukwu in a statement made available to the media.

According to the statement, the university’s academic policies and procedures are clearly outlined in the student handbook.

Students were called upon to familiarize themselves with the said guidelines to avoid misinformation and ensure a smooth academic journey.

The statement read:

RE: False Claims on Clemency for Students with Outstanding Carryovers

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka has intercepted a circulating audio clip falsely claiming that the university has granted clemency to students with outstanding carryovers, allowing them to return and ‘sort’ their academic issues.

We categorically state that this claim is false and baseless. The university upholds rigorous academic standards and adheres to established procedures for addressing academic issues.

Our academic policies and procedures are clearly outlined in the student handbook. We urge all students to familiarize themselves with these guidelines to avoid misinformation and ensure a smooth academic journey.

Members of the University community are advised to verify any news related to the institution on our official website (unizik.edu.ng).
